Virgin Atlantic is one of my preferred airlines, they are a vibrant airline and they’ve got it – Virgin Redhead Cocktail – a delightful champagne cocktail
Created specifically for the airline in 2003 this signature Cocktail is served in Virgin Clubhouse Lounges. I first got introduced to the Redhead at 7AM when the staff insisted I try the signature drink – I was off on holidays so why not. I had to stop myself at two as the drink is very refreshing. This drink also reminds me of my trip to New York, when I was getting married – we got pampered in the Cowshed Spa then relaxed in the big comfortable chairs enjoying a Virgin Redhead or two before jetting off to get married.
This champagne cocktail is a blend of freshly muddled raspberries, pressed lemon juice, cassis and framboise liqueurs, shaken with Bombay Sapphire Gin and then spritzed with the house champagne. If you are unable to access the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse you can make your own at home.
This recipe serves 10:
75ml Chilled champagne
60ml Redhead premix
500ml Bombay Sapphire Gin
500ml Freshly squeezed lemon juice
200ml Creme de cassis
200ml Framboise Liqueur
150ml Sugar Syrup (1:1 – sugar:fine white sugar)
200ml Raspberry Puree (Les Verges Boiron)
Shake premix over ice and then add champagne to shaker,’throw’ from one shaker to the other to integrate ingredients (or stir slowly) and then double strain into chilled champagne flutes.
Enjoy - Cheers!
Whilst you may not be jetting away or relaxing in the lounge you can still dream of your next voyage. Have a wonderful weekend.
Sounds like a delightful drink.
You’ve got style.
Virgin Airways is a great company.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello John
It certainly is a delightful drink. Virgin Atlantic have a wonderful product from the lounge to the flight. What I enjoy about Virgin whether you are flying in the front, middle or the back, you will receive excellent service. They also serve a “strong” G&T..
